Help Area Families Create Space for Grace
With Kitchenware for CARITAS Furniture Bank
For many families, the kitchen is the heart of the home, the place where we Create Space for Grace. It is where we share food, fellowship and faith. For victims of natural disasters or homelessness, creating that space for grace once again is central to rebuilding their lives.
Participants in WomanKind 2012 have the opportunity to help hundreds of families in Central Virginia Create Space for Grace by supporting the CARITAS Furniture Bank with their donations of gently used kitchenware.
The CARITAS Furniture Bank provides basic household items as people move from shelter to stability, working in close partnership with 50 local non-profit and social service agencies to provide household goods to more than 700 households annually. In 2011 alone, it kept 300,000 pounds of furnishings out of the landfill and recycled it back into the community, benefiting qualified individuals and families in need of help.
The ability to fill a home with the basic necessities of living is as important as finding a home itself. Think about how you Create Space for Grace with your family in your home. What do you need to make your kitchen a warm, welcoming and working room? What tools do you need to prepare the meals that bring your family together?
By donating the following kitchen items at WomanKind 2012, you will Create Space for Grace for families in need:
- Pots and Pans
- Cooking Utensils
- Bakeware
- Measuring Cups and Spoons
- Dish Towels
Your tax-deductible donation of gently used kitchenware is an easy, green and cost-free way to help hundreds of your neighbors regain their lives, acquire the basics of a functioning home and Create Space for Grace.
